Questions.
If yours is not here, ask it on a call. We would rather answer it than have you guess.
The data
Where does the data come from?
The systems you already use, plus whatever listing or market sources you have rights to. We connect to what you have rather than asking you to move everything somewhere new first. We do not resell data you are not entitled to, and if a source you want requires a licence we will tell you before quoting.
How current is it?
As current as the source allows — some feeds update within minutes, others overnight, and a few only when somebody exports a file. The important part is that the screen tells you which is which. A figure that is a day old is labelled as a day old, so it is never mistaken for a live one.
What if our data is a mess?
It usually is, and that is a normal part of the job rather than a reason not to start. Tracing where each figure actually lives and how reliable it is takes up a good share of the early work. Where numbers disagree between systems we will show you, and you decide which one is the truth.
Using it
Can we export it?
Yes. Anything on a dashboard can be exported or scheduled out as a file, because at some point a lender, an accountant or an investor will ask for it in their own format. That is built in from the start rather than added later.
Can you predict the market?
No, and anyone who says otherwise is selling something. We will build comps, trends and what your own portfolio is doing. Turning that into a forecast is your judgement, informed by better numbers than you had before.
Is this not just a spreadsheet?
Often it could be, and we will say so. A spreadsheet stops being enough when more than one person edits it at once, when a mistake is expensive, or when producing the monthly version eats a day of somebody's time. If none of those are true, save your money.
